Natalie is a street style photographer herself - her pics will be featured in SAIC's f news magazine.

"Iris" opens today at the Music Box Theater

The documentary "Iris", directed by the late Albert Maysles (who also directed Grey Gardens), opens today at the Music Box Theater. This is definitely a must-see for all fashion lovers, since it's a glimpse into the life of a witty style maven, with plenty of history and sound bites to share. A self-defined "geriatric starlet", Iris Apfel came to be known by a wider audience in her 80s, when she was the theme of a Metropolitan exhibit entitled "Avis Rara", featuring her collection of statement-making garments and accessories. After that, well into her 90s, she came to star in magazine covers and ad campaigns, design her own jewelry line, and now even have her own movie. Columbia fashion student Rebecca Blanton featured her thesis collection at the 14th annual Driehaus Awards for Fashion Excellence. I was so impressed with her designs! So minimal and contemporary, but also colorful, feminine and fun! She was definitely my favorite. I mean, I really want that outfit model Mabel Terry (pictured right) has on...
