Karyn, Mike and Merl at Market Supply Co.

Karyn Dethrow, Mustache Mike and Merl Kinzie were recently featured in the Chicago Looks Newcity column - read a bit of what they had to say here and by all means go check out their recently opened shop, Market Supply Co. It was chosen "Best New Pilsen Vintage Store" in the Newcity Best of Chicago issue and is certainly one of the neighborhood's gems:

Best new Pilsen vintage store
Market Supply Co.

Pilsen has become quite the destination for vintage clothing enthusiasts, with the proliferation of first-rate second-hand shops such as Knee DeepPilsen Vintage, Modern Cooperative and Comet. Reinforcing the trend is the recently opened Market Supply Co., a mixture of an old-school barbershop and a vintage boutique run by Mustache Mike, a Minneapolis style celebrity who's been cutting hair since he was nine, plus Karyn Dethrow and Merl Kinzie, two extremely knowledgeable local vintage sellers. Expect to find a well-curated selection of garments in mint condition dating all the way back to the thirties and handmade eco-friendly accessories.

1747 South Halsted, (773) 609-2887

Check out more Newcity Best of Chicago here and find essential categories such as Best place to have your leather items cleaned and Best 4 AM pizza delivery.

Alanna Picks #6: Roses and Spiderwebs

An oldie but a goodie from last summer Alanna wanted to feature here. She loves the juxtaposition of romantic flowers and creepy spiderwebs.

Alanna Zaritz runs the blog Drawn and Coutured and is a regular contributor to Chicago Looks. Check out the sweet post she wrote about me here and find her bargain-hunting expert tips on the Groupon Style & Beauty section here. Below see Alanna ruling in Wicker Park for the feature:
