Anna and Vincent
Anna Mort and Vincent Uribe were shot at this year's EXPO kickoff at the Richard Gray Gallery downtown. They were standing by the work of Jaume Plensa, in an exhibit entitled "Private Dreams".
Anna and Vincent run the LVL3 gallery in Wicker Park and are responsible for some of the coolest art happenings in town. This evening you can see a bit of what they are up to at Alex Scott's "Summer Things" opening, taking place at Study Hall from 6 to 9pm. Vincent is involved with Arts of Life, and the event will be benefiting this great organization that introduces art to individuals with disabilities. More info in the post below. See you there!
THIS WEEKEND! (including TONIGHT)
"Summer Things" by Alex Scott happens at Study Hall TONIGHT from 6 - 9 PM, and will be benefiting this wonderful organization called Arts of Life - the boutique will be donating 10% of all their sales to the cause. Plus the art is sure to be amazing. Study Hall - picked as the Best Local Alternative to Urban Outfitters for the Best of Chicago Reader 2013 - is also celebrating their 2nd anniversary this evening. More info here.
Chicago Designer Summer Showcase also happens tonight (from 5 to 8 pm) and will be featuring - you guessed it - select local designers and vintage clothing sellers. More info here.
This event is sure to be HOT and will be featuring happening local designer Sarah Shikama at the happening Tusk shop (picked as the Best Boutique with Odd Hours of Operation for this year's Best of Chicago Reader). Must go! Tomorrow (Saturday) from 4 to 9 pm. More info here.
And last but not least, the great Randolph Street Market this Saturday and Sunday. With all these cool events I guess it won't be hard to find you Lolla look...
Chicago Looks for Newcity: Alanna and Gábor
Alanna Zaritz of Drawn and Coutured and Gábor Hizó were featured in my Newcity column a few weeks ago. Their take on maternity wear is very unique and extremely cool. Really worth checking out - see their interview here and get the latest Newcity all over town.
